On one of the hottest days of the summer more than 200 people attended the Friends Second Annual Garden Party held in the hospital on the 8th July
The Event was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress, Bill and Francis Hancock with help from Alistair Murray, Town Crier and Andy Brewer the Second Deputy Mayor.
This year we experimented with more children's games which included a small Bouncy Castle as well as having an ice cream bike. These stalls were located at the front of the hospital and as people walked round they came across our massive book stall outside the hospital garages, another new idea, before continuing to the St. Pauls Road entrance to the hospital and our Famous Bottle stall and other stalls.
Moving on past these stalls visitors entered the Conservatory and Courtyard garden where we had Cream teas and cake sales, and many more stalls. Once refreshed they were able to continue to the Day Room where we had a massive craft sales area. Many of the stalls can be seen in our pictures.
We are grateful to the members of the Public that turned up to offer support to OUR (Everyone's) hospital. My thanks go to all our committee members and Volunteer Members that helped out on the day and we are very pleased to announce that we have made more than £1500.
