I just thought that it might be an idea to let you know some of things that go on where you don't get invited to attend. Nothing personal - it is simply that we do not have the space!
This coming year we are working with The Hospital Sister and the Chaplain to put on some Services for the Patients and their Relatives. So we will have an Easter Service on the afternoon of the 25th April, a Harvest Festival on the 3rd September and a Remembrance Day Service and WWII Sing-a-long on the 28th November.
Besides these events we organise musical mornings or afternoons with the help of the U3A Concert Party. All of these events require a pianist and singers to help to make it as authentic as possible for those that are unfortunate enough to find themselves in hospital.
Now here is the sting in the tail!
When we have the Harvest Festival we would like to receive some small food donations. Simply because of our limited ability to handle such items please may I beg you, if you would like to help, to ONLY supply TINNED Food. Vegetable, Fruit, Rice Pudding - in fact any tinned food item. These items will be used at the Harvest Festival and then delivered to the local food bank.
There will be clearly marked collection boxes in the MIU and in the Main Ward Reception where you can leave your tinned food donations throughout August.
