Sunday 30th June, Friends of Burnham on Sea War Memorial Hospital... held a Garden Party to raise funds for the Hospital.
It was a fun packed day, with children’s games, face painting, hair braiding. Drummers were in attendance on the front lawn, which were very entertaining. The Deputy Mayor officially opened the Garden Party and highlighted how important the hospital is to our local community.
Cream Teas were served all afternoon, there were delicious cakes on sale. We also had our infamous bottle stall, ‘surprise’ tombola, quality hand crafted goods, quality Bric-a-Brac, books, jigsaws and jewellery on sale.
Ceri Joyce Vice Chairman of The Friends extended her thanks to the wonderful volunteers who helped make the day so successful and to all the locals who attended to support the event. The whole afternoon raised a staggering £1,630.
She added that the next time you can meet ‘The Friends’ will be at their coffee mornings at The Methodist Church in College Street on July 20th and August 17th followed by them holding a stall on Monday 26th August at Manor Gardens Fete.
