ABOUT BURNHAM

WAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Making a Difference for the Community

Our Hospital serves a population of approximately 25,000 over a radius of 12 miles. In the summer there is an influx of an additional 20,000 visitors each week. The Hospital Out-Patients Department holds clinics daily with consultants coming from District General Hospitals in Weston-super-Mare and Taunton. There are 22 in-patient beds.

Hospital staff work closely with Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Services so that patients can return to their own homes as soon as they are able to look after themselves.  An advantage of a Community Hospital is that in-patients can remain close to their own homes. In addition the hospital provides a Nurse led Minor Injuries Unit that is open 7 days a week available to the local community and visitors alike.

For full details of the hospital, opening hours and location maps please go to the NHS Website.
