The Friends of Burnham Hospital – Out In Style!!!

A superb time was had by all attending the “Here Comes the Sun” evening of entertainment and fund-raising at Brean Country Club on Friday 17th September. This was the first major event The Friends had been able to hold since the start of the pandemic and it was overwhelmingly supported.

Ceri Joyce – Chair of The Friends said “It was such a pleasure to be able to hold the first of our fundraisers at Brean Country Club and we extend our gratitude to Alan House and all at Holiday Resort Unity for their generosity in offering us their beautiful venue. The impressive facilities, superb food and courteous and helpful staff, all added to the wonderful atmosphere of the evening which raised over £700 towards our Charity.”

Ceri went on to say “The Friends are aiming to focus on some high-profile projects in the coming months and the first of these to be considered is the refurbishment of the Courtyard Garden at the hospital for the benefit of the patients as well as the outside seating area for the staff. All of which hopefully will be unveiled in the Spring of 2022”.

The Friends next event is a Coffee Morning and Table top sale on Saturday October 16th from 10am till 12noon at The Methodist Church in College Street. A chance to buy your Christmas cards or pick up that little present, enjoy a piece of cake and a cup of coffee or just catch up with friends!
